“ A ship port is safe, but not what ships are built for.” - Grace Hopper
Hi, I’m Nick!
Welcome! Regardless of the reason that brought you here, know that the courage it takes to start this journey is no small thing! You may be feeling any number of emotions at the idea of
starting therapy. You may be struggling with questions about yourself that you don't know how to answer, feeling unmotivated to pursue or learn about your goals. You might be dealing with something negative that happened to you, or negative emotions that don't seem to need a reason to exist. All these feelings and reasons are valid, and don't need to be handled alone.
Working with me, I live by the idea that you are the expert on yourself and your experiences. My goal is to understand you and the things you care about as best as possible. I fully believe that
every person has the ability to succeed, they just need a space to work it out, and a safe person to work it out with. I support you by gently bringing forward any patterns, thoughts and areas
that may be helping or hindering your progress. I firmly believe that collaboration with honest and direct communication leads to finding the tools and strategies that work the best for you. If
my first question is "How can we make this space something that you can use?", my second question is "What would need to happen to feel like today was a success?" I am passionate about supporting the unique identities that help make us who we are.
As an individual who identifies as a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and a neurodivergent person, understanding how these identities and cultures impact us is important to me. I am dedicated to culturally responsive care, as it is a necessary part of learning about the people I support, and understanding the emotions we face.
My approach is primarily focused on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). While I use other modalities like motivational interviewing, Feminist therapy and others, my approach will likely be made up of whatever techniques support you best.
When I am not at work, you can find me playing video games, planning a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, attempting to learn everyday repair skills or cooking something new! I look forward to supporting you through this journey!
