Exhale Therapy

Corrina Kissoon-Lauzon

“ We carry inside us the wonders we seek outside of us” - Rumi

Hi, I'm Corrina!

Perhaps you've been carrying the weight of anxiety for so long that it feels exhausting to get through the day. Maybe you've been healing from difficult experiences, and feeling stuck in the past or future, or struggling to show yourself the same compassion you give easily to others. Maybe you have been feeling overwhelmed by stress, burnout, or the challenge of
setting healthy boundaries. Whatever has brought you to wanting to explore therapy, you don't have to navigate it alone.

I believe therapy is most helpful when it is rooted in a collaborative, safe professional relationship. My style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, while also encouraging and challenging towards curiosity, growth, and meaningful change. My hope is that you leave each session feeling understood, supported, and empowered.

I became a therapist because I believe people are incredibly resilient and deserve to find healing, even when life has made them question that resilience or healing has felt difficult. I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals experiencing anxiety and worry, healing and recovery following trauma, burnout, challenges with self-compassion, stress management, and creating healthier boundaries. I take an eclectic approach that thoughtfully blends evidence-based therapies with somatic and trauma-informed perspectives, recognizing that healing involves both the mind and the body. I also believe therapy does not only have to be heavy, but that there can be space for lightness alongside the meaningful exploration in sessions.

My experience in community-based and hospital-based mental health has allowed me to support individuals with diverse and complex experiences. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), and informed by other therapeutic modalities, I tailor the approach in each session to each person's unique story, values, and goals.

Outside of my practice, you'll often find me on my yoga mat exploring both yoga asana and yoga philosophy, spending time in nature, travelling, reading, baking something new, or enjoying a quiet afternoon with my cat. These moments remind me of the importance of balance, presence, and caring for ourselves with the same kindness we so often extend to others.
