“ Still, I rise...” - Maya Angelou

Hi, I'm Barbra!

Many of the people I work with come to therapy carrying stories that feel heavy to hold alone experiences of trauma, loss, disconnection, or moments in life that changed them in ways they are still trying to understand. They may be asking themselves quiet questions like What happened to me? Who am I after everything I’ve been through? Can I move forward? If you are navigating these questions, you are not alone, and you do not have to make sense of them by yourself.

In our work together, you can expect a space that feels steady, warm, and deeply human. I don’t rush the process or push you into places you’re not ready to go. Instead, I stay present with you, paying attention to what unfolds naturally in the moment. I bring curiosity, authenticity, and a gentle sense of humor when it helps us breathe a little easier. My hope is that you feel safe enough to slow down, explore what has been carried for far too long, and begin to reconnect with parts of yourself that may have gone quiet.

I am especially passionate about supporting people who have lived through experiences that leave painful inner wounds; childhood or relationship trauma, sexual abuse, grief and loss, and the heavy feelings that linger long after the moment has passed. I also support people navigating the dull ache that builds from the wear and tear of daily life, stress, burnout, and questions of identity, belonging, and purpose. Together, we make meaning of these experiences and move toward a sense of possibility and purpose. I care deeply about culturally responsive and trauma informed therapy, and I hold space for the ways culture, history, and lived experience shape how we heal.

My clinical approach is grounded in evidence based, trauma focused modalities including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Flash Technique, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I integrate these approaches in a flexible, responsive way always guided by what feels most supportive for you.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy gardening, long walks in nature, singing, dancing, getting lost in historical dramas, cooking competitions, and whodunits. I love hosting friends and family for gatherings that usually involve music and new dish to try. I’ve recently started exploring yoga and have found it helpful in returning to my centre. These pieces of my life help me stay connected, present, and human qualities I bring into the work we do together.

If any part of this resonates with you, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you navigate your own story and discover what healing and meaning can look like for you.
