“ Trauma is not what happens to you. Trauma is what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you.” - Dr. Gabor Maté
Hi, I’m Arwaa!
I'm a student Psychotherapist at Exhale Therapy. If you are reading this, you might simply be looking for a safe space to breathe, reflect, and unpack whatever life is throwing your way right now. You are welcome exactly as you are, whether you are looking to process difficult experiences, discover your inner strengths, or foster long-term resilience. You do not have to navigate it all alone.
My therapeutic approach is deeply client-centred, flexible, and rooted in collaboration, warmth, and empowerment. Having spent years working on the front lines in the domestic violence sector, I bring a deep, practical understanding of complex trauma, relationship dynamics, and safety tools to our clinical space. I am deeply committed to providing trauma-informed, strength-based, and CBT-oriented care. I welcome individuals from all walks of life, ensuring our space recognizes, honours, and respects the unique life experiences and diverse backgrounds that shape who you are.
Sitting across from me in a session feels like a safe, non-judgmental pause from the noise of the
world. While we will move at a pace that feels entirely comfortable for you, I utilize a highly flexible, integrative style, fluidly blending different therapeutic tools and theories to meet your unique needs. I value practical resources, meaningful assessments, and gentle between-session reflections to help you discover your natural resilience and create real, lasting change.
Outside the therapy room, I am a big believer in practicing the same work-life balance I encourage my clients to maintain. You can usually find me exploring new local coffee shops with a black Americano in hand, getting lost in fascinating audiobooks on trauma and resilience (or a good mystery thriller!), winding down at night with a dedicated skincare routine, or planning my next quick travel adventure. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing and reclaiming your story on your own terms.
